The crime took place about 7 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of Superior Grocers in the city of industry. A carjacker approached the victim and stole his Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck by force, officials said. No weapon was used in the crime. The victim further reported that the truck had a case of Modelo beer inside, officials said. Deputies quickly found the just-stolen pickup truck abandoned several blocks away, Gutierrez said.
